As Raila Odinga’s Running mate vetting starts today, it has been revealed that ODM and Jubileeagreed that the latter party gets to have the DP post while ODM leader vies for Kenya’s top job.
It has further been revealed that Uhuru Kenyatta has already submitted the names of his preferred DP candidates to the vetting panel.
“The president’s party was to produce the DP. We have presented two names and we are confident that one will be picked. We did our due diligence and evaluated their suitability. We are waiting.” An informant who sought anonymity told the standard.
According to the daily, president Uhuru Kenyatta sent an official letter to the panel stating that Peter Kenneth and Muranga Women Representative Sabina Chege are his most preferred candidates.
Raila Odinga is also said to have met with the interviewing panel on Sunday 8th may 2022, where he showed interest in having a Running mate from Mt Kenya region.
